TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEERS: Acme Packet Inc a worldwide leader in session border controller network infrastructure products, seeks Technical Support Engineers for their Bedford, MA headquarters. Responsibilities include: Analyze customer problem reports/replicate customer environment to reproduce customer problems in a lab environment; troubleshoot/successfully resolve customer problems by performing open defect analysis/apply debugging techniques; escalate issues into Engineering organization as required; manage Soffront database by opening/ tracking all trouble tickets, Return Material Authorizations, account information & Maintenance Plans; work w/Soffront vendor on professional/enhancement services; interact directly w/customers; schedule includes on-call rotation & alternating weekends. Minimum Requirements: M.S. (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunication Systems Management; at least 1 year experience in technical support engineering within telecommunications and/or data communications; must be familiar with carrier class networking & telephony environments w/an emphasis on next generation IP services; knowledge of & demonstrated experience in 1 or more of the following areas of specialization required: LAN/WAN data networking architectures & routing protocols, IP Telephony Architectures & VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323, MGCP, RTP/RTCP).
