Come be an integral and vital part of an exciting and growing Hospitalist program in Toledo, OH at Toledo Hospital with a solid team of physicians and clinical staff. Our Mid Levels (NP or PA) will provide practice coverage support working with the Cogent HMG Hospitalist physician’
  • s. All duties will be carried out according to hospital policy and in accordance with applicable policy and regulations regarding the practice of NPs/PAs in the state of practice. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: As directed by the Site Director and within the scope of hospital privileges, performs the following duties: Perform evaluation and management services to patients requiring hospitalist services within the HMP hospitalist practice. Development of treatment plans.
  • Performing daily rounds.
  • Perform dictation of history & physical examinations.
  • Perform dictation of Discharge Summary and Procedure reports.
  • Write progress notes.
  • Provide patient education as indicated.
  • Order routine and special laboratory studies.
  • Order radiology studies.
  • Write orders for inpatient and outpatient medications
  • Perform resuscitative measures in a code setting using ACLS, ATLS protocols.
  • Perform such other responsibilities as reasonably assigned by the Site Director and within NP and PA’s scope of practice.

SHIFT :
  • Monday – Friday

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • PA - Baccalaureate Degree in accredited Physician Assistant Program
  • Fulfill such criteria to become and maintain certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants.
  • Active License to practice in the state within which this position is held
OR
  • NP - Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with MSN.
  • Certification in Adult Acute Care (preferred), will consider Family Practice and Geriatric certification with recent acute care experience.
  • Active License to practice in the state within which this position is held
  • Clinical patient care experience in a hospital setting
  • Successful completion of credentialing process at designated hospital site(s).
  • Maintain current BLS/ACLS certification.
  • Collaborate with other team members and work harmoniously with others.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills to be approachable and understandable to patients, families and staff.
  • Demonstrate capacity to be flexible to meet the practice schedule so as to ensure appropriate coverage and high quality services.
  • Demonstrate skill in resolving conflicts and promoting positive outcomes for patients and families.
  • Provide necessary care for patients as required by position.
