The overall purpose of this job is to 1) coordinate railcar movements to and from various refineries, rail yards and third party storage yards to meet refining, marketing and customer needs and requirements 2) Coordinate movement of railcars to facilitate regulatory or day to day maintenance 3) Work closely with refinery product control departments, railroads, switch crews and rail maintenance crews to efficiently facilitate the removal and placement of railcars at various loading racks for loading and unloading. This position is located in Catlettsburg, KY.

Gathers information from marketing, refining, lab, outside customers and railroad personnel to make appropriate railcar selections. Required to make individual decisions after acquiring all relevant and at times limited information.
Review and closely monitors for changes in rail product loading requirements and coordinates with refinery and railroad personnel to ensure proper scheduling and placement of empty and loaded railcars.
Prepares bills of lading and switch lists for railroad crews. Designates proper DOT description and class on the bills of lading and forwards to serving railroad.
Forward looking, efficiently choosing proper railcars from local and remote storage for individual customer and company needs with an emphasis on minimizing demurrage charges.
Uses critical thinking skills to make abrupt changes to work flow as information and situational changes dictate.
Cognizant of individual internal and external customer requirements and fulfills these requirements in a timely manner.
Performs duties with limited input and direction from local supervision
Monitors utilization of railcar loading facilities with the goal of identifying work flow changes that can improve utilization
Performs and coordinates at various marketing groups request, the inspection and movement of railcars throughout the Marathon refinery/storage yard system to efficiently meet the needs of the system
10. Perform all duties with safety and regulatory compliance as the primary goal
High School diploma and excellent computer skills required.
Industrial experience preferred.
