Responsibilities for this Solutions Engineer V:
Responsible for the technology lifecycle of the Middleware components including WebSphere, MQ, Portal and other Middleware solutions within the MGI infrastructure.
Participate in product development architectural overviews to ensure that business requirements are aligned with MGI infrastructure governance processes
Champion governance and usage guidelines for new technical products to MoneyGram; ensure support processes relate to those initiatives are defined and implemented
Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported at MoneyGram and facilitate the integration with new technologies where possible
Work across teams to ensure the highest level of performance and availability is provided for the assigned technologies/solutions
Evaluate, recommend and implement third party software as needed
Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including IT management, development teams and end users
Assist in the lifecycle maintenance and management of the MoneyGram middleware infrastructure components
Participate with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) guidelines are established; collaborate with the development and architecture teams ensure SOA principles are adhered to and implemented
Serve as a technical consultant for enterprise-wide and/or large infrastructure and development projects, ensuring business needs, architecture, infrastructure and technical standards are aligned
Keeps abreast of MGI strategic directions. Stays up-to-date on relevant technology trends. Anticipates client future needs and the impact they may have on technology. Develops and maintains a network of contacts that can provide information.

Skills and Experience Required: Education:
BS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and work experience, required
Experience:
5+ years WebSphere and/or .Net experience while accepting consistent, additional responsibility.
A minimum of 10+ years experience in the infrastructure environment commensurate with the assigned area of responsibility, required
IBM certified administrator for multiple versions of WebSphere and WebSphere MQ
Java development expertise with multiple versions including WAS 8
Track record of driving initiatives, proactively developing practical solutions and ideas that add value.
Track record of developing clear and appropriate infrastructure system designs and models, demonstrating creativity and an ability to invent elegantly simple models of complex entities. Clearly demonstrated ability to understand overall corporate technology strategy and apply it when recommending technical solutions.
Significant experience providing effective technical advice to staff to improve their technical skills. Significant experience performing technical analysis, evaluation and recommendations of technology tools and solutions. Demonstrated ability to proactively foresee, break down, analyze and resolve complex technical and/or functional problems, required.
