Analyzes drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare process routings, set-up times, part costs, tooling requirements, bills of material and labor costs for products, projects, and services.DUTIES-Determine material, machines, labor and process requirements, and use those to produce customer quotes.-Provide excellent customer service.-Assist other team members in sales and service through coordinating engineering, fabrication and delivery of products.-Suggest modifications as appropriate.-Compute cost factors and prepares estimates for management use in planning, manpower availability, equipment utilization, tooling needs and product cost.-Interact with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Production areas, and others to obtain and provide information necessary to resolve issues and establish an accurate estimate.-Establish setup and run rates and related cost data.-Present a formalized cost estimate to Sales that is used to base selling prices to bid on future profitable work.REQUIREMENTS-High school diploma. Post-high school courses related to Industrial or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred. -Experience in manufacturing with strong background in fabrication & machining processes.-Able to read 2D and 3D drawings and customer specifications. -Knowledge of tooling, jigs and fixtures is very beneficial.-Knowledge of methods/time studies and ability to calculate run rates.-Capable of determining the most cost-efficient method to produce parts.-Knowledge of finishing processes (paint, heat treating, plating, polishing, etc.).-Familiar with shop floor systems & available equipment.-Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Word.-Able to read, analyze, and interpret various types of data, especially drawings. Able to effectively present information both orally and in written form and to respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and other employees.-Able to interpret drawings and geometric tolerances.-Able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.-Able to apply concepts of basic algebra, trigonometry, geometry and statistics. -Able to calculate run rates and setup times.-Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.-Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.-Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
