Diamond Healthcare is opening a 26-bed Psychiatric Inpatient Geriatric Program in Albuquerque, NM. There will also be a Structured Outpatient Program (SOP) associated with the Behavioral Health Program. Renovations of a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) facility are currently taking place.
SUMMARY PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION : The Secretary/Administrative Assistant/Receptionist functions as a focal point of communications, coordinates clerical activities, manages financial records and daily charges and liaisons with business office of the hospital.
REPORTS TO : Program Director.
EDUCATION : High School Diploma is required.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS : Strong organizational and secretarial skills including computerized word processing, and medical information system, with the ability to type with speed and accuracy. Ability to establish and maintain a filing system. Sound knowledge of medical terminology, grammatical structure, spelling, English composition and business correspondence formats. Sensitive, flexible and mature enough to cope with difficult and mentally ill clients. Able to maintain confidential information. Ability to work with minimum supervision.
PRIOR EXPERIENCE : Previous unit clerk, receptionist/secretarial experience of 1-2 years is strongly preferred or equivalent training. One year working in a Psychiatric setting is preferred.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT : Pleasant indoor environment within the Behavioral Health Department. Moderate physical activity. Some hazard potential from possibility of physically acting out behavior of patient and health related communicable diseases, some assistance may be required in assisting patients in personal hygiene.
