Mobile & Wireless PR Manager

This self-starter should exhibit some proven track record in mobile technology, but is also an individual who is open to growing their capabilities and career.
The successful candidate will join the product & technology PR group and will work with the group manager to help expand and support the company's broad mobile and wireless communications PR initiatives. Through news generation, media relations, product launches and thought leadership programs, the candidate will educate and help shape perception among key target audiences regarding Intel's growing presence and highly competitive product offering in the smartphone and wireless communications technology arena.
Develop external and tactically execute strategic communication plans for Intel's growing smartphone and wireless communications products, as well as supporting standards and technologies such as Wi-Fi, 2G, 3G, and 4G. This includes: Developing strategic and multi-faceted communications plans for mobile and wireless products that include: pre-launch, launch and post-launch activities, product seeding & reviews, ongoing media education, and more.
Effective liaison with Intel product and marketing groups to understand and translate business goals into strategic PR and thought-leadership programs that can be executed both directly and via 3rd parties (i.e., agencies, partners, etc.); In this role the individual must also be able to successfully counsel executives on strategy, plans and any issues management.
Define, develop and drive strategic media relations efforts that contribute to a full and robust pipeline of major stories for Intel globally. Must be able to develop personal relationships with senior editors, journalists and bloggers that cover and closely follow the mobile and wireless communications industry, including industry trade press, major broadcast, print, wire services and online outlets.
Effectively partner with and harness creativity from Intel's PR agencies, colleagues and other internal marketing organizations to deliver integrated programs and maximize results;
Be well-versed on the current media and social media environment as it relates to Intel business as well as broader mobile industry landscape. This includes staying abreast of the competitive landscape and other potential news triggers and being prepared to respond to media inquiries.
Preferred Education Background: Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations or communications; an MBA or master's degree in marketing or communications is a plus.
A minimum of 6 years (ideally 8 years) of experience in product and/or technology PR
Previously responsible for mobile and/or wireless communications product PR a must, preferably for another Fortune 500 firm, including but not limited to smartphones, telecom/carriers, wireless networking and infrastructure, etc.
Prior experience working with senior executives on communications strategy
A rich mix of communications experience is preferred, such as strategy and message development and tactical execution for major product launches; executing public relations campaigns; and utilizing different communications vehicles (print, broadcast and online media relations, social media).
Experience at both a PR agency and on the client-side is a plus
