Collections Manager I will be responsible for management of Bulk Acquisitions Collection efforts within the Spartan Financial Partners division of American Credit Acceptance, LLC by providing information and consultation to senior management and executives, resolving complex problems and inquiries, and training and coaching staff.

  • Managing members of the Bulk Acquisitions Collections team, to include Collectors and Supervisors
  • Developing and monitoring Bulk Acquisitions Collections results and goals
  • Critical thinking and project management
  • Planning, evaluating, implementing and continuously improving all aspects of the Bulk Acquisitions Collection functions and processes
  • Ensuring professional relationships are established and maintained with customers
  • Direct interaction with selected customers in resolving delinquencies
  • Effectively communicates corporate and department objectives on a regular basis
  • Motivates and creates a positive working environment to achieve productivity and performance standards
  • Prepares performance appraisals and provide feedback and recommendations to the Director of Servicing
  • Assess supervisor development needs, draft development plans, and monitor performance
  • Provides recommendations for hire, advancement, promotion or termination of employment
  • Trains and coaches Bulk Acquisitions collectors and supervisors to support the business objectives of the department
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Develops and maintains appropriate business relationships with automobile dealers
  • Travel as needed to meet with dealers
  • May assist in the Bulk Acquisitions diligence process which includes credit and pay history analysis
  • May assist in approval of deal prior to funding

  • 5+ years of experience in a direct customer contact, service, or sales environment
  • 3+ years of collections experience
  • 2+ years of experience with Bulk Acquisitions Collections
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory role
  • 1+ years of subprime auto loan servicing
  • Experience in buying bulk accounts is preferred
  • The ideal applicant will have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or a related field
  • Applicants must possess strong systems skills; solid collection, analytical and negotiating skills; effective oral and written communication skills; and a solid knowledge of collection laws
  • Ideal applicant must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be able to thrive under pressure
  • Strong team player with a high level of professionalism and initiative

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and motivate a team
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred
