Perform general Storekeeper duties including receipt, storage, and distribution; verify quality and quantity of shipments received; and general recordkeeping activities in the storeroom operation. Prepare requisitions for stock replacement; supervise student workers; and maintain efficient storage methods. Operate a motorized hand cart to unload and stock supplies; conduct annual physical inventory; track fixed assets and organize surplus sales and liquidation; maintain the cleanliness of the storeroom; unload supplies/shipments from delivery trucks as needed; provide support and act as back-up to the Purchasing Department and University Post Office; and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Purchasing.
Minimum requirements: Three years of experience in stores control work, including one year of supervisory experience with responsibility for the operation of a small storeroom; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a high school or vocational school; or any combination of experience and training. Qualifications include the completion of a successful campus interview. Additional qualifications: Experience with storeroom methods and procedures; knowledge of purchase and requisition procedures; ability to determine quality and quantity of goods in relation to prescribed specifications; ability to install and maintain stock inventory records; ability to plan, assign, instruct, and review the work of student workers; experience with Microsoft Word and Excel; and demonstration, through past accomplishments and actions, of the ability to support Mansfield University’s principles and values of Character, Scholarship, Culture, Service (http://www1.mansfield.edu/mansfield-creed) and the University’s strong student-centered vision and mission. Preferred: Four years storeroom operation experience. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and function with some degree of independence. Communicate effectively (written & verbal) and operates general office equipment. Must be able to lift and carry over 50 pounds. Take/follow verbal and/or written direction. Ability to stand, walk, reach with arms, stoop, kneel, etc.
