Laboratory Systems Engineer

Job Description: The Laboratory Systems Engineer position will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of computer systems utilized in the laboratory areas of the company. These systems include standalone workstations along with computers used for instrument control and data gathering and analysis. Additional responsibilities include documenting configurations, processing change requests, executing test plans, performing periodic evaluations and managing vendor services. Responsibilities: Work with laboratory personnel managing the installation of maintenance of Laboratory Equipment (Biomek, ABI, Microscopes, Sequencing, Robotics, etc.) Administration, support and maintenance of multi-site Laboratory Systems infrastructure servers and services adhering to agreed upon service levels Provide third level support for applications utilized in the lab environment Manage the integration of third party applications and services into the lab environment Work with IT and researchers on qualification and validation efforts Draft, approve and follow relevant lab systems SOPs and policies
Experience:Requirement: Minimum of 5+ years' experience working with Lab Systems Minimum of 3+ years supporting Windows Servers Experience supporting Linux based servers Experience working with Active Directory Experience with HPLC/UPLC systems Experience with Environmental Monitoring Solutions such as Rees & JCI Experience with Life Sciences Applications such as GE Unicorn Experience working with validated/qualified systems Experience in a high-availability, on-call environment Experience with Waters Empower Enterprise & ChemStation Systems Administration is a plus Experience with PI Historian Systems Operation and Administration is a plus Experience with OPC Data Management is a plus Non-Technical: Excellent customer service skills ' interfacing with customers and vendors Excellent Organizational Skills - ability to manage time and multiple tasks Excellent written and verbal skills Strong problem solving skillsEducation/Experience:This position requires a BS/BA in Science/Engineering or related field and 5+years of relevant experience in lab/IT setting. Other:Some off-hours work is required. This position will be very dynamic and require a person that is able to work in a very team-oriented environment yet take ownership of the responsibilities of this position.
