What we are looking for:
Move Networks is seeking highly motivated individuals to join its Production Operations team to manage the technology that powers Move's service in support of world-class television delivered over the Internet. This position will maintain systems that transcode content into Move's format and make it available for consumption, allow publishers to manage their video assets and provide reporting on viewership.

At this time Move has two positions open for a System Administrator. One position is to cover weekdays from 1:00AM to 9:00AM and includes 3 hours of overlap with senior staff to provide cross training. The other position is for weekend staffing from 7:00PM to 7:00AM on Saturday and Sunday with two other 8 hour shifts during the week at flexible times where employee will work alongside senior staff and obtain cross training.

DUTIES

Responsibilities:
  • Respond to requests for service by provisioning accounts, configuring supporting applications (encoding, CMS, DRM, etc.) and directing content routing.
  • Act as a point of escalation for tech support.
  • Troubleshoot issues as they arise, working with tech support and customers at times.
  • Provide feedback for product bug fixes, enhancements and needed test cases.
  • Escalate issues to more senior staff.
QUALIFICATIONS

What you'll need:
  • Actively pursuing or achieved Bachelor's Degree (CS, EE, Math, Information Technology or other technical area)
  • Linux administration skills.
  • Experience with administrative use of scripting such as BASH, Python and SQL scripting languages.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated with good decision-making abilities.
  • Good logical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with the following would be helpful:
  • Supporting computer systems within a live PRODUCTION service environment.
  • Database configurations and administration including SQL.
  • Network architectures including web servers, web caches, databases, storage area networks, clustered storage systems, routing, etc.
