The Patient Access Registrar gathers demographic, medical, and financial information critical to overall patient care and reimbursement, avoiding non-compliant penalties to the hospital, patient and physician. He/she orders tests and assigns the preliminary ICD9 codes.
Requires a High School Graduate. Basic computer literacy, including word processing and keyboarding skills of 35 WPM. Excellent verbal and reasoning skills. Clerical knowledge, such as answering telephones, filing and copying. Excellent customer service and reception.
