Job Description Role Summary

Prepares and consolidates various Healthcare financial reports and SEC filings. Analyzes actual results relative to prior year, quarter over quarter, and sequential, as well as versus projection and plan. Initiates and maintains communication with matrix partners collecting/providing financial data for consolidation; ensures accuracy of financial data and timely reports to management.

. Major Duties

Accurately prepares/supports Healthcare Business Financial Exhibits (BFO Package), consolidated balance sheet and income statement analytics, as well as exhibits for Analysts’ call.

Ensures the accuracy, validity, and timely completion of management reports.

Supports the preparation of CIGNA Healthcare 10K and 10Q exhibits, as well as year end financial disclosures and SEC filings.

Maintains strong internal control environment to consistently improve upon data accuracy, quality, and close process timelines.

Drives and contributes to the successful reporting of financial and operational information by assisting in the development of report standards, formats, and procedures.

Works closely with central accounting to support and contribute to enterprise wide re-engineering business process improvement.

Quickly and accurately reacts to ad-hoc requests.

Cross-trains with peers and others to develop expertise and build relationship with partners.

. Requirements Qualifications

Highly developed organizational and analytical skills.

Highly motivated and ability to work independently.

Advanced knowledge of personal computer financial software applications, including Excel spreadsheets, Hyperion Enterprise and Access databases, as well as other tools for analysis of financial data.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Familiarity with financial systems and reporting of Indemnity / HMO and or Specialty results.

Solid understanding of critical earnings factors for all CIGNA Healthcare earnings lines.

College degree in accounting/finance and working toward completion of MBA program or CPA.

4-6 years of professional accounting/financial experience.
