The OEMS Department of Capital Assets Management, FLEET Division is seeking a full time FLEET Specialist II for our Oklahoma City location. This is an Unclassified, position within Oklahoma State Government. In addition to a comprehensive Benefits Packet the annual salary for this position is based on education and experience.
Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities involving mechanical/technical work in the repair and maintenance of light duty automobiles.
Employees are assigned responsibilities for performing skilled mechanical work in repair and maintenance.
Responsibilities include conducting regular maintenance on vehicles; trouble-shooting repair needs; independently completing repair projects.
Perform major and minor preventative maintenance service on state vehicles and equipment; Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and cosmetic problems.
Responsibilities will routinely involve repair or replacement of defective parts, installing engine parts and components and related work to include electrical circuitry, hydraulic systems, emission systems, brake systems air and hydraulic, A/C systems.
Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work environment; inspect and test equipment for safety and proper working order.
Adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical personnel which may include employees and customers on an as-required basis while performing roadside assistance, towing needs, and rollback services.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience:
Requirements at this level consist of three years of experience in light duty vehicles; combustion engines or chassis maintenance and repair; or an equivalent combination of education and experience,
substituting one year of education/training as an automotive &/CNG mechanic.
May require that employees be willing and able to fulfill all job-related travel normally associated with the position, i.e. vehicle testing, wrecker services, road-calls, etc.
Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle - candidate must possess and maintain a valid Oklahoma class D drivers license and have a satisfactory driving record.
