Performs radiographic procedures on patients. Performs a variety of technical procedures
applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis to produce quality radiographs
for interpretation. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.
This position will maintain all required JCAHO, OSHA, local sate, and federal standards.
Demonstrates actions consistent with Ochsner Clinic Foundation's "Quality Principles" as
duties are performed on a daily basis.
III. 1VIINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Education, Experience,
High school graduate or equivalent. Satisfactory completion of a formal radiology
technology program in an AMA approved program and meets the requirements for
the registry of ARRT. Registry eligible technologist must be certified within one
year of employment. Licensed by the State of Louisiana as a radiologic technologist.
B. Other Qualifications:
Able to communicate effectively and courteously with patients, visitors, and other
professionals, both internal and external. Working knowledge of various computer
C. Physical Demands:
Constant standing and moving about are required throughout the day. A radiologic
technologist must be able to work and move unrestricted from a squatted position to
reaching and working overhead when manipulating radiographic tubes. Lifting and
carrying x-ray jackets, cassettes, and supplies up to 25 lbs. Providing standby
assistance to full assistance with wheelchair and exam table transfers is also required.
