One of the nation's leading media corporations is looking for a Manager of Studio Technology.
The Studio Technology group within Operations & Technical Services is an engineering team that spans all production areas across the corporation, and has sole responsibility for all studio and control room technical systems as well as their associated engineering projects. This department is heavily involved in the technical design & support across all studio and control room systems for events and new initiatives, as well as sustaining excellence across the production facilities. The ideal candidate will have a background in television systems electronic maintenance across Audio, Video, Control, and Communications systems as well as a strong IT background.
The Manager of Studio Technology will be responsible for providing front line sustainability for all studio and control room systems within the Manhattan facility. The core responsibilities include:
Implementation of standards, controls, processes and technologies that ensure a high degree of availability and reliability for the studio and control room environments.
Vendor management by monitoring performance, providing feedback, championing new projects, and defining or approving/disapproving change control processes. Effectively interface with outside vendors and equipment manufactures in person, through written communications, and via telephone.
Measurement of support effectiveness, and efficiency across studios & control rooms.
Management of a dynamic team of engineers that provides "best in class" support, including show-specific technical requirements, and effectively managing budgets.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Technology, and 3-5 years experience in studio systems engineering/maintenance, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
Experience with live television control room and studio environments
Experience with television systems electronic maintenance across Audio, Video, Control, and Communications systems as well as a strong IT technology background.
A good understanding of the production process for News, Sports, and Entertainment programming in a studio environment is essential.
Proven ability to effectively interface with outside vendors and equipment manufactures.
Extensive experience managing teams, including both represented and non-represented staff
