The Echocardiographer performs all Echocardiogram and Dopplers which result in successful reading. Assists with all other departmental testing as needed, following departmental protocols. The staff member demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development for all age groups with special emphasis on middle and senior adults. The staff member must evidence the ability to apply these principles when selecting equipment, performing tests, and interacting with clients and their families.
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE: Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Must have passed a course in Arrythmias. Must have completed echo courses in M-Mode and 2-D and Doppler Echocardiography. Must possess two years experience in cardiology testing. Must be able to perform EKGs, Holter Monitor scanning, Treadmill preparation, Echocardiograms, and Dopplers. Must be CPR trained- Healthcare Provider level.
