JOB BRIEF

The Change Effectiveness Manager provides experience, a thorough understanding of change management, and best practices to our projects, strategic programs, portfolios, and general operations throughout Compassion. They work hand-in-hand with delivery teams, organizational readiness teams, and change managers throughout Compassion. The Enterprise Change Effectiveness Manager is responsible for bringing proven, value-add change processes to every phase of our project management methodology, delivery practices, and general ministry operations. They align and work closely with other change management and organizational readiness initiatives throughout Compassion, help lead the change management community of practice and champion the practice of change effectiveness throughout Compassion globally.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.

Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.

Brings a deep and evolving knowledge of change effectiveness and change management principles and practices to our project/strategic program/portfolio methodology. Responsible to integrate this knowledge effectively with our delivery methodologies and measures.

Demonstrates a thorough understanding of project management, strategic program management, and portfolio management and how these disciplines are used for improved results through Compassion globally. Understands the critical relationship between project management and change management.

Functions as “team player” – not just in the Global Project Office -- but amongst project managers, program managers, and change managers throughout the ministry, globally. Capable of working effectively with people from different cultures, globally, and being culturally aware of our differences.

Works closely with other members of the Global Project Office, other Project Management Offices in Compassion, our Global 2020 Vision, and organizational readiness teams throughout Compassion.

Leads a community of practice related to change leadership and management throughout Compassion globally.

Trains and influences senior executives on change leadership and effectiveness.

Requirements
FUNCTIONAL JOB COMPETENCIES

Proficient and experienced with one or more recognized change management methodologies.

A solid understanding of how people go through change and the change process.

Deep understanding of project and program management methodologies and principles.

Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.

Strong group facilitation and presentation skills.

Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.

The ability to work effectively at all levels in an organization.

Problem solving and root cause identification skills.

Strong analytical and decision making abilities. Strategic thinking skills.

Strong people relationship-building skills. Ability to work effectively and collaborate with customers, vendors, peers, supervisors, and team members.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Bachelor's degree in organizational change management, human resources, organizational management, psychology, sociology, or a related field. Master's Degree desired. In lieu of degree, 7 years relevant experience and progressive, targeted development in change management.

Experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies. Minimum of 5 years of experience with mid-scale (department/division) to large-scale organizational change efforts. Military experience also applicable.

Certifications/Licensing: Certification preferred (PMP, Six Sigma, Lean, or similar). Prosci training a plus.
