Migrating up from the South in the 1800s, Jewish trades people made their way to Louisville, settled there and created a network of religious, social service, health, cultural and educational institutions. The Jewish Community of Louisville (JCL) agency was formed in 2009 from a merger of the Jewish Community Federation of Louisville and the Jewish Community Center of Louisville. The agency raises funds and provides programming for the Jewish and broader Louisville metro communities. For more information about the JCL visit www.jewishlouisville.org.
