High school graduate or equivalent. Previous background of working in a healthcare related field, with knowledge of third party payers for at least 2 years preferred. One year of data entry required. PC experience required with knowledge of Excel and Word applications. Healthcare collection experience preferred. CPAT/CPAR certification preferred.

The Patient Financial Services Representative is responsible for handling all aspects of patient collections in a timely manner. The position includes working all outstanding patient balances more than 30 days old until resolution, including but not limited to, sending letters to patients, telephone calls, sending outstanding balances to bad debt and resolving third-party programs assisting in collecting patient accounts (e.g. Plus, Greenflag and other collection companies). The position also handles all interactions with collection agencies as well as all accounts in litigation. Responsible for the coordination, posting and mailing of refund checks on patient accounts (for patient refunds only, not insurance checks) once the Refund Coordinator has approved the refund request and submitted the appropriate request for payment.
