The Manager, Marketing Partnerships is responsible for researching, cultivating, negotiating and closing new cause-related marketing and sponsorship programs that generate revenue in support of The Nature Conservancy’s conservation goals.
The Manager, Marketing Partnerships will identify and cultivate appropriate corporate partners to provide funding and increase visibility through innovative marketing programs. At the same time, s/he will be responsible for developing appropriate benefits for each cause marketing and sponsorship program and negotiating financial terms and contracts with new corporate partners. The Manager, Marketing Partnerships will manage program logistics, including project budgets and relationships with internal and external partners, outside parties, consultants and vendors. S/he will manage internal review/approvals/tracking and communication of CRM programs to various committees and internal stakeholders. The Manager, Marketing Partnerships will help manage a strategic plan to engage corporations, develop promotional materials, sponsor packages and presentations for new business development to advance cause-related marketing and sponsorship goals.
The Manager, Marketing Partnerships will report to the Senior Associate Director, Marketing Partnerships.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field and minimum of 5 years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven success with cultivation and sales of strategic business relationships, sponsorships and charitable sales promotions with major corporate partners.
Experience with performing due diligence on new corporate partners along with cost/benefit analysis
Experience cultivating and managing client relationships.
Experience in project and account management including budgetary responsibilities and demonstrated success with meetings sales targets
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in cause-related marketing, advertising, sales promotions, sponsorship and/or public relations campaigns and strategies.
Experience in evaluating potential partners and developing effective, targeted sales presentations
Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and expert level sales skills.
Experience cultivating and managing strong client relationships.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise initiative, use discretion when handling confidential information and effectively prioritize tasks.
Ability to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner with careful attention to details.
Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
Strong team player with a positive, upbeat attitude and demonstrated success in coordinating diverse teams of people.
Beneficial to have an understanding of current trends in cause marketing and sponsorships as well as a working knowledge of rules/regulations governing these functions.
Understands and champions The Nature Conservancy brand and integrates successfully throughout marketing programs and cause-related marketing efforts.
