General Responsibilities : Provides analysis, technical support, and help line support across multiple platforms.
Monitors UNIX based servers, IBM, and VAX systems. Diagnoses reported hardware, software, and network problems. Resolves or repairs as possible and contacts additional technical support as necessary. Provides procedural guidance, demonstrates, and provides direction for functions such as backups of UNIX, IBM, VAX, and PC based systems.
Continues to improve technical expertise through the identification of new processes technical alternatives to resolve problems and/or general improvements. Performs other duties as assigned. Specific Responsibilities : Reviews and analyzes the performance web reports, error emails, equipment events reports, traps, REMEDY, and other external sources to identify performance-related problems with NSANet. Takes corrective action for a timely resolution to fauLts/incidents under PFM control.
Researches technical performance information. Reviews performance reports and graphs for accuracy. Analyzes information from reports and graphs. Generates a tracking ticket for each problem.
Interrogates device identified. Isolates and identifies the problem area. Collects and provides statistics and reports. Isolates problem to ISP (internal service provider) or ESP (external service provider) area of responsibility.
Identifies the responsible party using various tools/databases. Contacts the responsible party and advises party of the problem. Required Training and Certifications : CCNA certification; and ITI L® v3 Foundations certification. HP Service Manager 7.11 End-User Training is highly desirable.
