The MRI Technologist provides services using Magnetic Resonance Imaging modalities. Performs MRI procedures. Applies principles of MRI protection. Evaluates laser images for technical quality. Exercise professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Provides patient care essential to MRI procedures. Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures. The staff member will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age of the patients served. The employee will be able to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age, specific needs and to provide services as described in the department's policies and procedures. Additionally, the MRI Technologist performs all other responsibilities as assigned.
- Education and Formal training : Degree or graduate of JRCERT program required.
- Work experience : One year of radiology experience required
- Licensure I Certification I Registration : ARRT (MR) required. ARRT(R) required within six months.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required : Analytical ability, basic computer skills, good communication skills, ability to adapt the procedure based on the age of the patient served and ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs.
