BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES DEPARTMENT
The Biomedical Sciences Department is one of ten academic units in the College of Health and Human Services and has a human-focused emphasis in the cellular and molecular biosciences. The department offers undergraduate degree programs in cell & molecular biology, dietetics, clinical laboratory sciences (medical technology), and M.S. programs in cell & molecular biology and nurse anesthesia. Minors are offered in biomedical sciences, nutrition, molecular biology, and exercise biology. The department also offers coursework that supports the programs in physical therapy, physician assistant studies, sports medicine and athletic training, and nursing. The department facilities provide a standard array of shared equipment, including tissue culture laboratories, fluorescence microscopes, and an electron microscopy facility featuring scanning electron microscopy and X-ray microanalysis capabilities. Inter-college research collaboration is encouraged, and research opportunities may be possible with faculty research cohorts emphasizing the fusion of biotechnology and nanotechnology. QUALIFICATIONS
The position requires an earned Ph.D. in a Biological Science with a human anatomy emphasis; MD or DO degree. Other required qualifications include teaching experience in cadaver-based anatomy laboratory, post-doctoral research experience and effective oral and written communication skills.

DUTIES
The position is a 9-month, tenure-track faculty appointment in a department that has a human-focused emphasis in the cellular and molecular aspects of the biomedical sciences. Teaching responsibilities will include graduate human anatomy and other courses in the Cell & Molecular Biology program. Nine (9) contact hours will be assigned typically in each fall and spring semester that may involve off-campus courses, ITV or online courses. Additionally, the position requires development of an active research program involving undergraduate and graduate (M.S.) students, student advisement, and engagement in department and community service. A continuous publication record in peer-reviewed journals is necessary, as is the search for extramural funding to support research. Additionally, candidates must be team-oriented with effective verbal and written communication skills. Successful candidates must be committed to working with diverse student and community populations.
