Supervise field crew from scheduling labor/parts to disciplinary issues.
Develop work scopes, time frames, parts, consumable and labor scheduling.
Quote and bill all field mechanic work directly to the customer.
Settle customer disputes/discrepancies.
Work closely with manager and accounting to maintain revenue income.
Work closely with customer to meet their needs.
Ensure maintenance of service trucks, and mechanical equipment.
Evaluate each and every completed job to ensure quality and full work scope completion.
Negotiate pricing and labor scheduling to meet overwhelming demand with present labor force.
Research and maintain compliancy with safety/DOT issues (with no person in this position the supervisors must
handle many issues).
Provide guidance to customers in weld repairs, suggested modifications and updates on what is working elsewhere.
Keep up on invoicing & billing of all field jobs to maintain positive cash flow.
Research weld procedures, repairs and modifications for P&H, Cat, Hitachi and all other dirt moving type equipment in this area. All the way down to straight fabrication of weldments.
Track maintenance and expenses to keep at minimal and increase the bottom line.
Train all employees in new safety policies and procedures and instill a safe working environment and attitude.
Always continue to build leadmen and possible supervisors thru mentoring and technical training.
Complete annual GPS evaluations for all field welders/machinists.
Assist in developing upcoming budget numbers (expense vs. revenue).
Qualifications Very skilled certified welder that can understand and read blueprints, MOPs and follow a scope of work.
Minimum 5 years welding and mechanical experience on vast range of mining equipment with a very good understanding of structure designs and wear package applications. This experience is vital because many field repairs do not have an associated MOP.

Must be able to maintain customer relations.
Must be able to understand the dollars side of the business to ensure profitability and utilization.
Must be very organized to keep up with the labor force, man hours, consumables, parts, safety/DOT training and maintainence of all equipment.
