Education Specialist ICD-10 will provide education and consultation on clinical issues across the Health System during the ICD-10 Project through 2014, and will remain on board to support other organizational training initiatives. The incumbent uses learning and other interventions to facilitate the improvement of clinical services, both on the individual and organizational level. Acts as instructor, facilitator and evaluator. Partners with learners (individuals and departments) to identify learning needs and develop plans for improvement. Participates in process and quality improvement activities. Incumbent will be responsible for curriculum design, course development, scheduling & presiding our classroom learning. Serves as resource to the ICD-10 project team responsible for organizational communications and education surrounding ICD-10. Creates audience-appropriate communications for all levels of hospital and clinic staff.
Educations, Certifications and Credentials: Graduate of an Accredited Program in HIM or HIT or similar clinical Experience. Completed course work in Medical terminology, ICD, and CPT coding or comparable experience required. Associate degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred. Degree in progress considered.
Experience: 2 years using clinical systems such as eClinicalWorks, Meditech, or other clinical system is required. Clinical knowledge required. 1-2 year's education & training experience desired. ICD-10 knowledge preferred. Previous management experiences a plus.
