Engineer will be responsible for leading and supporting DO-178B software certification efforts. This is a contract position for candidates interested in converting to permanent employee status after six months.

Specific and detailed responsibilities shall include the following:

Lead and support DO-178B certification for Level A products

Using the existing system and software processes in place, lead system engineering efforts to support the achievement of major and minor TSOs for existing products which involve the following: requirements, design, reviews, checklists, integration testing, system V&V activities

Generate system and software specific requirements that meet both customer specifications and FAA requirements (FARs and ACs)

Support FAA SOI audits for TSO certification

Interface with the customer and be able to travel to customer sites when necessary

Required Capabilities:
Software development and verification knowledge

Solid understanding of RTCA/DO-178B

Fluency in high-level and assembly level programming languages


Understand and write *C* software

ARINC 429 and CAN protocols

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Independent thinker

Team oriented

Desired Capabilities:
Experience with DOORs

Applicant must have knowledge of the following avionics industry documentation:

FARs 23, 25, 27, and 29 related to flight control systems
