The Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood (CCFC) is looking for a capable, dynamic, committed student to work at our Boston office 10 hours per week during the spring semester. Candidates must be available to work at least 4 hours on Mondays and be able to work during our conference March 21-23. Successful candidates will help coordinate the conference, track legislation, research critical issues related to commercialism, create advocacy materials, and provide administrative support for our campaigns. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone interested in social activism and advocacy.

CCFC is the only national advocacy organization devoted solely to reducing the harmful effects of commercialism on children. In working for the rights of children to grow up—and the freedom for parents to raise them—without being undermined by corporate interests, CCFC advocates for a healthier childhood and a more democratic, sustainable world. CCFC's work has been featured in major media outlets around the world, including the New York Times , the Wall Street Journal , and USA Today , and on the Today show, CBS Evening News , the Colbert Report , and many more.

Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks.

Research skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Interest in social activism.

Interest in communications/media studies, psychology, or child development preferred.

Proficiency in Drupal or HTML and Photoshop, preferred but not required.

Available 10 hours per week, including at least 4 hours of availability on Mondays.

Available to work during our conference Thursday, March 21 – Saturday, March 23.

Assist in the coordination of CCFC's 2013 conference, including communicating with speakers, compiling and editing information, and creating materials.

Provide support during the conference March 21-23 at Wheelock College in Brookline, MA.

Update CCFC website with news, conference updates and important marketing developments.

Research issues and topics related to CCFC activities.

Assist in the creation of advocacy materials, such as fact sheets and other content for CCFC's website.

Maintain accurate database of CCFC members and friends.

Assist with administrative tasks as needed.

Pay: $10.50/hour
