Hawk Institute for Space Sciences, a full service engineering company, specializing in aerospace engineering for commercial and government agencies is seeking Sr. Spacecraft Systems Engineers to work in the Washington, DC area.
We are looking for candidates who will bring a working knowledge of spacecraft subsystems to the team and serve as a technical lead on our spacecraft efforts in addition to supporting our customers through our engineering services contracts. The candidate will be responsible for developing spacecraft system and subsystem concepts, planning, managing, and executing several major efforts focusing on the design and development of space systems and components. These positions will also involve defining requirements for spacecraft, risk assessment, system engineering analysis, interface management and technical oversight. The candidate should possess experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and should have a broad technical background with direct experience in manufacture and/or integration of spacecraft systems. Experience with Microsoft Office suite, requirements management tools and program scheduling tools is also a plus.

Candidates should have a B.Sc. in Engineering with 10+ years of spacecraft system engineering and direct experience in the design, development, integration and test of space hardware. Candidates should have experience in leading and performing spacecraft related technical analyses, subsystem trade-offs, and defining appropriate technical performance measures to track program development. Hawk is interested in receiving resumes from candidates that have an active Secret or TS/SCI with current SSBI clearance or who have the ability to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. The qualified candidates should also have strong oral and written communication skills.
