In this challenging role you will be responsible for all gas measurement and pressure regulation activities and all other related functions. You will be engaging in gas measurement and pressure regulation to include the following: installation, removal, maintenance and operation of all gas measurement equipment, pressure regulation, over pressure protection, gas system SCADA, gas AMI devices, gas telemetering, odorization equipment, and valve maintenance of associated valves. Duties:
¿ Installs, removes, maintains, tests and calibrates all gas measurement equipment including both mechanical and electronic correction equipment.

¿ Installs, maintains, tests and calibrates all gas pressure regulation equipment including over pressure protection equipment, both gas system and at customer premises.

¿ Installs, maintains, tests and calibrates all gas system SCADA, including coordination with interstate natural gas pipelines.

¿ Installs, maintains, tests and calibrates all gas telemetering and AMI equipment, both gas system and customer transportation.

¿ Installs, maintains, tests and calibrates gas odorization equipment.

¿ Maintains and operate gas system valves associated with measurement and regulation processes.

¿ Install maintenance and calibration of transducers, flow metering, telemetry, AMI and similar equipment.

¿ Installs, maintains and calibrates gauges, chart recorders, and similar electromechanical equipment.

¿ Must maintain Operator Qualifications that pertain to this position.

¿ Repairs, tests and adjusts all types and sizes of gas meters.

¿ Installs, repair and adjusts gas regulators and relief valves.

¿ Investigate gas leaks, odors, and carbon monoxide.

¿ Relight customer pilot lights.

¿ Installs and calibrates pressure and/or temperature correcting devices.

¿ Trains employees on use of gas metering and regulation equipment.

¿ Reads gas meters.

¿ Performs soldering and pipe joining.

¿ Operates and maintains all types of meter testing equipment.

¿ Maintain records on GIMMS and other systems as required.

¿ Performs necessary data entry related to daily activities.

¿ Makes customer contacts as required.

¿ Responsible for exercising good customer relations skills.

¿ Keeps the meter shop, trucks and equipment neat and orderly.

¿ Performs all work according to established company procedures and safety practices.

¿ Performs other duties which are similar, related or incidental to this position.

¿ Working Conditions: Review the Physical and Environmental Inventory.

Qualifications:
Mathematical skills at the high school level; demonstrated knowledge of state regulations and company policies pertaining to gas metering and regulation; must be Operator Qualified that pertain to this position; working knowledge of gas meter, regulation and associated equipment, testing and repair procedures; demonstrated ability to work with hand tools and wrenches; demonstrated computer skills; possession of a valid driver's license (CDL preferred); completion of the gas meter/regulation tech apprenticeship and pass the final position qualification examination; ability to perform the physical requirements of the job. Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse work group. May work alone or with others and must have the ability to be self-directed.

*NOTE:
This position is covered by the Department of Transportation regulations on drug/alcohol testing (CFR 49, Parts 40, 199), and is subject to drug/alcohol testing according to said regulations.
