Imagine yourself as a Manufacturing Engineer II/Sr Manufacturing Engineer I. This position can be a Salary Grade E02 or Salary Grade E03 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Create and update process instructions for use by manufacturing operations.
-Must use VBS, in particular the Project Book dashboard to complete actions and address improvement ideas from production operators.
-Individuals must work directly with Represented Employees, Quality, and Operations Personnel.
-Disposition non-conforming material and perform root cause analysis and corrective action.
-Perform First Article Inspections assuring hardware meets all quality requirements flowed down from the technical data package.
-Conduct area self audits to assure compliance.
-Participate in the design of fixtures and tooling.
-Proactively undertake safety initiatives including job hazard analysis and ergonomic assessments.
-Support Defect Prevention Team and engage with work area to address systemic issues. Drive continuous improvement through root cause/corrective action/preventive action to reduce scrap and rework.
Do you have these Basic Qualifications?
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
-4+ yrs experience working in a production environment
-Experience using Raytheon tools such as VM, PDM, VBS and PRISM
-4+ yrs experience problem solving and proposing manufacturing process solutions.
-Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance level
In addition to the above, do you have some of the following Desired Qualifications?
-Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Access/Project).
-Experience in implementing Statistical Process Control and Design of Experiments to solve design and manufacturing related issues.
-Ability to work with suppliers to ensure schedule and technical issues are resolved.
-Working knowledge of Military and Commercial Materials and Process Specifications.
-Self-motivation and good communication/written skills
-Desire and ability to work as a team member.
-Must be adaptable and willing to work varying assignments.
-Must be customer focused.
-Pre-existing Confidential Security Clearance.
-Working knowledge of Geometric Design and Tolerance, ANSI 14.5.
