Bloom Health has an exciting and career-building paid internship available for an emerging Human Resources professional. This is an ideal opportunity for a passionate and independent individual pursuing a degree and career in Human Resources.
The Human Resources Intern will partner across Bloom’s HR Department and responsibilities range from routine duties such as monthly background checks to broader initiatives like Bloom’s employment culture.
This role reports to the Human Resources Generalist and is flexible with hours up to 25 hours a week. This is a temporary position with a timeframe of January – May 2013.
Recruitment & Employment Branding
Proofread new, as well as edit past, job descriptions
Assist in the scheduling of candidates; Review internal calendars and communicate logistics to candidates and interview teams as needed
Post opportunities to proven sites and avenues as directed by HR Team
Administer pre-employment assessments to candidates as needed
Help with pre-employment processes, including professional reference checking, background checks, securing insurance binders for contractors, initiating HelpDesk tickets and planning seating arrangements
Create Employee Action Forms to communicate compensation/role updates to Finance as directed by HR Team
Schedule the monthly “Bloom’s Overview Session” with Leadership Team and new employees
Maintain recruitment and employment files
Assist HR Generalist with the submission of Health, Dental, Transportation, Retirement/401k, Life/AD&D and Disability new hire and employee qualifying event enrollments
Audit benefit invoices as needed; identify discrepancies, communicate to HR Generalist for resolution with carriers
Help with company events such as Massage Day, summer boat outing, birthday party and holiday party
Edit org charts as directed by HR Team and make accessible to all employees
Partner with HR Generalist to enter new hire data into ADP to ensure accurate and timely payroll occurs
Assist with any custom report requests for internal stakeholders
Assist with ad hoc projects and initiatives like identifying furniture and other office materials
Provide back up support to Receptionist as needed
Proven ability to maintain confidential information
1-2 years Human Resources internship or other experience
Proven ability to establish and maintain effective, respectful and trusting relationships with fellow employees representing varying needs, personalities and styles
Must be dedicated to exceeding internal customer expectations and have an unwavering propensity to keep the Bloom employee’s best interests in mind
Tenacity to deal with ambiguity and to effectively solve problems by embracing Bloom’s highly dynamic, constantly-changing environment
Capable of assertively voicing opinions and ideas in the spirit of challenging and improving the organization and talent whilst being open and supportive of others’ thoughts and feedback
Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direction and innate desire to seek out new projects and challenges without prompting
