Empire State College’s Hudson Valley Center seeks applications for a part-time (50%) faculty member in Business, Management, and Economics, with significant expertise in business and marketing. This position is based at the Nanuet Unit in Nanuet NY. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in his or her area(s) of expertise and will be a generalist who is able to design and guide independent and group studies in a wide variety of areas, delivered in person as well as through distance learning methods. The role of faculty mentor entails mentoring and teaching students, engaging in assessment of students' college-level prior learning, and assisting them in formulating degree plans. The selected incumbent will be responsible for mentoring and teaching students in both individual and group learning settings, and reviewing and evaluating students’ work.
Master’s degree in an academic area related to Business, Management and Economics. The successful candidate must have the potential to effectively mentor and teach adults from diverse backgrounds. Teaching experience at the college level is expected. Successful candidates will also have strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
Experience in the business sector. Demonstrated success in working with adult students is a plus.
Office hours will vary to accommodate student needs and office obligations.
Rank/Salary: $31,000-$32,000, depending on qualifications.
