The IT Buyer works with the IT Procurement Manager and other key staff on all aspects of sourcing and purchasing IT Goods and Services for Laureate Education and its Campuses, by utilizing both PeopleSoft eProcurement and the helpdesk ticketing system. As a member of the IT procurement team, the IT Buyer is an important enabler in developing and conducting sourcing projects for the IT Infrastructure team. In this role, you will leverage your skills in non-merchandise strategic sourcing, sourcing methodology, advanced Excel analytics, building on your record of delivering successful projects in a condensed timeline. Purchase all IT Goods and Services within Laureate's technology standards by utilizing PeopleSoft eProcurement and Purchasing modules

Manage spend analysis and aid in identifying sourcing opportunities

Review and analyze expiring contracts and existing agreements

Requirements gathering including data collection, technical specifications, user requirements, and commercial requirements

Serve as the primary contact to ensure that order requests are completed in an accurate, timely manner while maintaining vendor relationships

Assist employees in understanding and completing requirements for new order requests

Closely monitor requisitions to proactively identify errors or delayed approvals and identify best course of action to resolve order delays

Work closely with IT Procurement Manager to ensure that requests are fulfilled in a timely manner, while utilizing PeopleSoft and Footprints ticketing system to view and update all IT procurement requests

Generate and/or request quotes for Information Technology goods and services

Closely monitor submitted orders in the PeopleSoft system from request through resolution while working with Frontline Helpdesk to complete, track, and return orders

Maintain accurate spreadsheet of vendor-specific part numbers, prices, and specifications

Obtain approval signatures from IT departmental managers for all IT-specific invoices

Create and complete invoice processing paperwork while working with Accounts Payable to render timely and accurate payment

Bachelor's degree preferably in a business related field and a minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience with an emphasis on IT buying, preferably in an environment that has undergone significant business process transformation. International experience is a major plus.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Must be able to work as needed to meet strict milestones set by the release of new CAPEX Projects while meeting high service standards

An ability to connect and work with all IT departments, end-users, business professionals throughout the company, and Vendors

Ability to be assertive yet tactful when negotiating with vendors

Organized, keen attention to detail, quick learner and strong analytical and mathematical skills

Strong data entry skills and ability to proof own work

Works well in a team environment and supports the department as a whole

Good customer service skills including, but not limited to, excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and project management skills

Ability to work in an open office environment with frequent interruptions and general office noise

Intermediate to advanced skills/knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite with special emphasis on Excel and Access. Proficiency in Excel formula manipulation and creation and ability to work in and extract data from MS Office software a major plus. Internet and email skills a must

Knowledge of PeopleSoft's purchasing and inventory modules a major plus. Significant experience with a purchasing, accounting and/or inventory system is a requirement
