Tools Configuration Specialist
will support efforts to develop, configure, and maintain program testing tools needed to successfully test the client solution. Initially, the Tools Configuration Specialist will be responsible for tool set up, configuration and development. Once the test tools are configured and in use, the Specialist will support and maintain them. After the test tools are configured, the Specialist will transition a portion of their time to functional testing. It is anticipated that after the initial set-up and configuration of the tools, the Specialist will have a 50/50 time-share between the following responsibilities:
Assists with the research and selection of tools needed to meet all testing efforts
Understands the requirements and parameters for installation and configuration of the testing tools
Coordinates with the Test management/client/architecture/environment team(s) to install, configure, and validate the functionality of Test tools/applications
Develop new/modify existing custom tools if necessary to meet project/test capabilities (e.g. data creation tools, interface simulators, etc.)
Serve as the administrator for test tools including: set-up, maintenance, and removal of user profiles; and the modification of system capabilities and processes
Creates and maintains test tool workflows and processes
Serve as the general Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the test tool capabilities and support team members
Create documentation for the administration, configuration, customization, and general management of the test tools
Conduct demonstrations and develop overview presentations and user guides for project stakeholders
Report detailed progress to leads
Identifies test case scenarios from Requirements and Design documents
Maps test cases to functional/system requirements for appropriate testing coverage
Develops detailed test case procedures, automated test scripts, and test data for execution
Assists with the development of overall test plans and other test artifacts
Executes test cases to meet required execution targets to keep the project on schedule
Identifies, records, and helps manage defects to resolution
Identifies and communicates any testing issues and/or risks to Testing Lead
Minimum 1 year of professional experience
Minimum 1 year of Testing experience (Functional, Regression, Integration, and/or Performance)
Minimum 1 year of Configuration Management experience (testing tools, support tools, etc.)
Minimum 1 year of Software Development experience
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Rational Jazz Suite (Quality Manager, Test Workbench, Virtualization Server)
TOAD, Benthic, SQL Server, other database query tools
508 Testing tools
Experience working with Federal Government projects
Experience with DHS Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC)
Experience working on large scale, enterprise wide Rational Tool implementations
Strong technical background with extensive knowledge of Rational Tool customization
