Conduct site surveys for new installations. Collect all necessary information for installing a new position such as: Network connectivity, Power availability, HVAC Capacity, Desk Space Allocation, integration with existing systems, obtaining copies of space accreditation. Conduct an interview of the user to determine how the system will be used and the best way to achieve what the user needs.
Generate functional requirements documents, floor plans, and client counts. Review parts lists and participate in reviews. Coordinate shipping, receiving and installation of equipment
Coordinate with site personnel to obtain network connections of the proper type and configuration to meet the scheduled installation date. Work with site network personnel to troubleshoot connectivity issues.
Conduct initial and periodic inventories and validations of hand receipts at each installation site
Configure personal computers, routers and switches with basic configuration for allowing initial remote management of the device.
Provide on-site support and troubleshooting for the helpdesk for issues that cannot be resolved remotely. Assist Tier II and III service desk and network engineers in troubleshooting devices such as switches, routers and encryption devices by providing feedback on the state of the device and performing basic functions under their direction.
Submit hardware trouble tickets for the repair/replacement of equipment. Conduct on site troubleshooting of items per manufactures request to obtain warranty service on equipment. Follow established clearing procedures for removing equipment. Coordinate with IA Security for adHoc clearing procedures on items that currently have no published procedure. Complete issueturn-in documents for hardware that has been replaced.
Using GSA or leased vehicleds, transport equipment from logistics facility to site for installation or replacement.
Monitor helpdesk trouble tickets for assigned area of responsibility and respond to customer requests within one business day.
Provide updates via telephone, email or site status of current installations, requests for service and site survey requests daily back to the lead systems administrator.
Provide telephoneon-site support to users when appropriate for assistance with the system as in password resets, unlocking accounts, assisting with use of system and its features.
Travel to sites will be required via personally owned vehicle, commercial aircraft, military aircraft, or other means as dictated by management
Perform other duties as required.
* Current TS/SCI clearance with a CI Polygraph or a willing to take a CI Polygraph.
* Ability to perform IT site surveys and the ability to configure personal computers, routers and switches with basic configuration for allowing initial remote management of the device.
* Able to submit hardware trouble tickets for the repair/replacement of equipment and conduct on site troubleshooting of items per manufactures request to obtain warranty service on equipment
* DoD 8570.01-M, A+ certification, Security+ and/or Network+ certification, Microsoft MCP 2003/2008 certification
