We are currently seeking a Director of Nursing-RN to join our TRISUN Heritage Oaks West team in Corsicana, TX! ! SUMMARY Supervises and coordinates nursing activities by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Responsible for developing and maintaining nursing service objectives, standards of nursing practice, and the application of nursing policies and procedures. In combination with the Administrator, will decide the appropriateness of placement of new residents. Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans to address highest level of care and services to each resident. Hire and retain staff necessary to meet population needs. Manages staff hours and purchase cost efficiently. Monitors quality indicators reports and validates accuracy of data. Monitors residents' conditions through department reports and systems for quality outcome. Develops and implements action plans. Assigns duties and coordinates nursing service. Assures ongoing department compliance with appropriate Federal, State regulations, and company policies and procedures. Evaluates nursing activities to ensure resident care, staff relations, and efficiency of service. Observes nursing care and visits residents to ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed. Works with Physician and in accordance with Physician's instructions administers treatment. Directs preparation and maintenance of residents' clinical records. Keeps informed of special orders concerning residents. Participates in orientation and training of personnel. Orders, or directs ordering of supplies, and equipment, and to facilitate care. Investigates and resolves complaints, incidents, and/or refers unusual problems to Administrator. Keeps Administrator informed on service outcomes to residents. Position requires being accessible on a 24-hour basis at all times. Supervises and evaluates implementation of the "Resident's Rights.' Participates and attends scheduled in-services and staff meetings. Maintains confidentiality of necessary information. All other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES All nursing staff: Assistant DON, RN's, LVN's, Staff Development Coordinator, Certified Nurse Assistants, Restorative Aides and Certified Medication Assistants. QUALIFICATIONS At least 2 years nursing supervisory experience required. Preferred 1-6 years in long-term or acute health care. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSCurrent State of Texas Registered Nurse Good standing in the state registry is required PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT Employee is required to hear, speak, sit, stand, and walk daily. The position is located in healthcare facility environment. Employee may lift up to 40 pounds and/or transfer 100 plus pounds. E.O.E. M/F/D/V
