This position in the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Mental Health and Substance Use Services is responsible for monitoring the provision of alcohol and other drug treatment programs, including performing related programmatic, fiscal and administrative duties. The incumbent performs funding and program development, as well as prepares policy and program recommendations to administrative management, and facilitates collaborative and interdisciplinary strategic planning processes.
The ideal candidate possesses content knowledge and experience in alcohol and other drug treatment program administration, including developing and monitoring programs and contracts for substance use treatment services. The ideal candidate also has experience working in local government and partnering with community-based organizations, and mental health and criminal justice partners. Familiarity with community-based organizations in Marin County is preferred. The candidate should have the ability to make sound, independent decisions while meeting the varying needs and deadlines of the Department.
Experience equivalent to two years of analytical or administrative experience in a community planning, health or human services agency with responsibility for planning or evaluating one or more of the following areas: tobacco programs, alcohol and drug programs, mental health, public health, social services, aging, or income maintenance program. A Master's Degree in the Social or Health Sciences from an accredited college with a specialty in administration, planning, evaluation, or health education may substitute for one year of the required experience.
