CSC is seeking intelligent, out-going, and confident individuals local to CHICAGO with a
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Information Technology
with 3-5 years experience
in computer programming, application testing, and project documentation
The developer is responsible to design and develop assigned technical components: i.e. screens, reports, etc. The developer will work with the lead or architecture member to create necessary views and other changes to the application under development. The developer is responsible for understanding testing, participating in the broader levels of test planning and in testing and support activities as needed.
Work and deliver with development team members to ensure a consistent technical landscape aligned to the technical architecture vision
Collaborate with team leads and team members to ensure that all technology initiatives are implemented within the existing or planned framework for each project
Provide assistance and technical guidance to business analysts, software engineers, QA testers and other team members in diagnosing and resolving complex defects identified throughout testing phases

Expectation for Travel: For the Global Business Solutions division of CSC, all roles require a commitment to 100% travel. This doesn't mean that a person will always be traveling for assignments, but new Consultants joining the CSC team need to understand that they could be assigned to a travel role. The staffing process focuses on assigning people to local roles as a first priority, however, if a Consultant is available and has the right skills for an assignment for another CSC office across the United States, the Consultant may be staffed into that travel assignment. When this happens, they travel to the project location at the start of the week, return at the end of the work week and are home during the weekends.
Essential Job Functions
Supports technical design activities related to application software, data, databases, packaged solutions and infrastructure components (Technical).
Designs, develops and distributes technical reusable components (Technical).
Participates in the selection, acquisition, configuration and troubleshooting of packaged solutions and technical infrastructure components (Technical).
Contributes to applying the Catalyst framework, in role played, to determine the methodological steps that are appropriate for an engagement (Methodology).
Leads a team of 3-5 company resources, in area of expertise, to conclusion of a project phase (Management).
Assists with gap analyses highlighting current state, future state, client needs, best practices and competition (Business).
Establishes credibility at all levels with clients and builds problem-solving partnerships with clients and colleagues (Relationship Management).
Understands sales process, information and support requirements, and assists sales staff in identifying leads (Leverage).
Communicates in formal presentation settings including medium sized groups, internal and external project teams, and business unit events; develops written communications to address varied styles and information needs (Communication).
Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science, MIS, CIS or related field
3+ years experience with Microsoft.NET
3+ years of relational database experience (SQL Server, ideally 2008R2 or higher)
Strong understanding and proven experience with object oriented design and development principles
Experience with C#, MS TFS, AJAX JQuery, HTML, CSS, JSON, SSIS, SSAS
Demonstrated experience with automated unit testing using NUnit, JUnit, VSTest or similar testing frameworks
Experience working in a TDD (Test Driven Development) environment is highly preferred
Experience working in Agile development environment (XP, SCRUM etc.)
Experience in financial services and/or investment industry desirable
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or related field preferred
Three or more years of experience in technical analysis and design, preferably within a consulting environment
Experience working with CSC Catalyst and/or equivalent client-mandated methodology
Experience working with software, hardware, data and testing standards
Experience working with delivery assurance principles and procedures
One to two years of additional relevant experience in a particular technical specialty area
Strong analysis and design skills
Good communication skills
Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment
Ability to devise creative technical solutions
Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with complex technical problems
Willingness to travel
