Location Birmingham AL Department Marketing Category Active Primary Duties As a vital member of the management team, the Vice President of Marketing provides strategic guidance for the market ing, penetration, packaging and perception for MEDSEEK and its entire product and services suite. The VP of Marketing provides tactical execution for promotion, lead generation, brand development, brand awareness, sales support, public relations and downstream product marketing for MEDSEEK. Overseeing the Marketing Communications and Product Marketing teams efforts, the VP of Marketing ensures the success of product launches, promotion of products and services, and support of the sales effort. The role also includes identifying new features, products and potential product partnerships, as well as developing market opportunities.

The candidate will also conduct primary and secondary Market research. The successful candidate is expected to research and develop a coherent strategy for maintaining MEDSEEKs competitive advantage with clearly differentiated products. Responsibilities: The VP of Marketing is responsible for working closely with Sales to establish, and help the company meet financial and market share goals.

The VP is expected to promote product and services revenue and advance the company brand and visibility in the market. The role manages the development and execution of MEDSEEKs product marketing vision and is responsible for the downstream product lifecycle as well as be a key contributor to upstream product and service solution strategy. The reports directly to MEDSEEKs Chief Marketing Officer in the Birmingham, Alabama office, and has departmental budget responsibility. Staffing and management of the Marketing teams are under the direction of the Vice President of Marketing.

Duties: * Direct the operations of the Marketing Department, including the development of the Marketing Communications and Product Marketing teams. * Create and manage the departmental budget, based on company goals and initiatives. * Establish business, marketing requirements for new product releases (help to set features functionality, projected launch dates, pricing and promotions) working closely with Product Development, Solution Strategy, Sales, Engineering, and customers. * Devise and implement programs to identify and obtain current research relevant to improving company practices and understanding of the marketplace, industry standards and trends, competitive analysis and consumer/user focus groups.

  • Oversee Marketing to promote the MEDSEEK brand: design and execute marketing campaigns; create and implement pricing, product promotion, marketing and training material to support product launch; and manage pro-active public relations activities. * Oversee Corporate Communications: develop the MEDSEEK voice and market ing; and direct information distribution through MEDSEEK's website, intranet, partner portals, customer support site and marketing collateral. * Oversee Product Marketing: coordinate the efforts of the Product Marketing team; manage and evaluate consistent product marketing direction; demonstration methodologies, sales strategy, as well as responsibility for the priorities of all product marketing activities. * Arrange, assign to others and participate in media interviews, specialty speaking engagements, user conferences, trade shows and industry events * Develop lead generation strategies for 24 month horizon including all current web technologies and methods.
  • Establish 1, 3, 5, year market forecasts * Participate in the development of strategic business models. Date of Listing 06/16/2011 Type Full-time Employment Minimum Qualifications Requirements: The candidate should have proven leadership ability and be creative, highly motivated, resistant to stress, flexible, and decisive. The ability to communicate persuasively, both verbally and in writing, with other managers, staff, and the public, is vital. This important executive role requires tact, good judgment, and an exceptional ability to establish and maintain effective personal relationships with supervisory and professional staff members and client organizations.
  • At least 10 years experience in marketing leadership, preferably in the healthcare industry is desired. * 5 years of software product marketing experience with enterprise software and/or web-based products is preferred. * Must have business-to-business marketing experience for products selling greater than $250k, preferably healthcare software. * Sales management experience is a plus.
  • Must have web marketing experience * A bachelor's degree in engineering, science, health informatics, psychology, journalism or marketing, combined with a master's degree in business or healthcare administration, is also preferred. Ideal candidates will have intimate knowledge of the eHealth industry and the concepts behind portal communications and connected communities, and is looking for the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the evolution of a highly successful technology company dedicated to excellence.
