Develops and executes formal test plans to ensure quality of software applications. Plans tests, writes test cases/scripts, automates test cases and executes tests. Defines and tracks quality metrics such as defects and test results. Documents problems and assists in resolution. Delivers quality process training to technical staff and acts as an internal quality consultant to advise or influence business or technical partners.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops and executes formal plans, procedures and scenarios for manual and automated testing to ensure quality of software applications. Reviews and assesses test coverage to ensure thorough quality review.

Plans tests, writes test cases/scripts, automates test cases and executes tests.
·
Perform smoke, application, functional and regression testing, including appropriate level of testing to ensure that systems or applications are tested effectively prior to implementation.
·
Documents and tracks test results, defects and other quality metrics. Enters problems and issues into system and participates in resolution.
·
Develops and implements quality standards and best practices, contributing ideas and effort toward continuous improvement.
·
Delivers quality process training to technical staff and acts as an internal quality consultant to advise or influence business or technical partners.
·
Performs other duties as assigned.

May perform specialized automated testing duties as follows:

Automated Testing
·


Creates, maintains and executes automated smoke, application, functional and regression tests.
·
Analyzes test plans, test data and test cases and assists in determining suitability, enhancements and priority for automation.
·
Works collaboratively with test team, development team and others to design and develop effective automation solutions.
·
Designs and develops automation framework and automation artifacts for variety of testing situations.
·
Perform smoke, functional, and regression testing, including appropriate level of testing to ensure that systems or applications are tested effectively prior to implementation
·
Enters problems and issues into an issue tracking system and participates in resolution of application defects.
·
Contributes to implementation and advancement of current approaches to automation testing.
·
Assists in defining and establishing automation and other processes and best practices, contributing ideas and effort toward continuous improvement.
·
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
EDUCATION : Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent combination education and work experience.

EXPERIENCE :
·
Ability to objectively evaluate processes and to separate technical systems into testable layers.
·
System and application functional and performance testing experience required.
·
Professional certifications in testing or related areas preferred.
·
Excellent general business knowledge, with in-depth understanding of business lines supported.
·
Experience with multiple projects as test coordinator.
·
Experience writing test scripts and training material.
·
Ability to execute tests and troubleshoot problems.
·
Knowledge of Software Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), particularly Agile/SCRUM and Iterative SOP PS-002
