Assist with patient care and coordinate patient flow in the physician's office. Requires six months experience in healthcare or completion of the NATS program.
Key Functions and Expected Performances:
Perform Patient Care
Measure and record vital signs, height, weight, head circumference, and other varying physical measurements, medications, and allergies as directed by MD or RN.
Perform/assist with procedures, according to practice protocol.
Participate in the teaching of patients and families, under the guidance of MD/RN: assess readiness to learn and barriers to learning; provide information and record teaching.
Coordinate Patient Flow (Room Utilization)
Deliver specimens to lab timely, according to lab standards
Obtain X-rays from Radiology, distribute according to MD instructions, return them to Radiology at the end of the day.
Place patients in rooms according to appointment time, patient and room availability, and MD availability.
Order or assist with ordering drugs and supplies according to practice standards.
Stock rooms according to practice specifications.
Participate in orientation of new personnel
Work alongside new personnel to demonstrate job functions and document training on new orientation checklist.
Job requires High school graduate or GED and 6 months of experience or the equivalent.
