TITLE: PROJECT MANAGER FOR COMMUNITY RELATIONS

SALARY: $47, 495 - $76, 220 (Grade 18)

LOCATION: Baltimore, MD
This position manages and directs the administration of the Maryland Transportation Authority's (MDTA) projects related to community involvement initiatives. This includes the development and implementation of media/public outreach phases. Specifically, this position will work with facility administrators in determining media/community outreach efforts which includes preparing and distributing project related publications; managing and supervising consultant support staff; editing statements, new releases, reports and articles related to community involvement initiatives; responding to inquiries from the public or media regarding MDTA projects; attending public hearings; and providing guidance about effective public relations to MDTA staff.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
EXPERIENCE: Five years of experience in administrative or professional work to include: Three years of coordinating, organizing and managing large scale public outreach initiatives including attending public meetings.
One year of one or more of the following: the supervision of other employees, overseeing and coordinating the general operations of a unit, applying rules and regulations, or exercising responsibility for the development of policies or procedures.

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
