Raytheon Technical Sercice Company's (RTSC) Field Engineering Operations is currently seeking a Student Intern for the summer, 2012 term to work with our Engineering Support Lab personnel and various Strategic Transportation Systems (STS) program labs.
Job Description : This position is for support of the mechanical/electrical design implementation of lab network hardware & systems. The position will require interfacing with the program engineers and assist the program engineers that provide solutions to engineering lab requirements. Assist in building engineering cable assemblies, break out boxes, and a variety of specialized test enclosures.
Required Skills : This requires a current college student enrolled in a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering-related major. Candidates should be in their Junior or Senior year. Preferred majors include: Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. This position will require racking of equipment; therefore, candidate must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Desired Skills :
Familiarity with hardware or software tools as appropriate for your academic level
Read blue prints, engineering drawings/sketches
Familiar with hand tools, power tools and machines, such as, drill press
Some electrical and mechanical assembly
Able to use electrical test equipment such as volt meters, power supplies
Be able to read cable layout and simple electrical schematics
Required Education (including Major): This position requires that candidates be currently enrolled as a student in a Bachelor's Degree Program with at least two years of college completed.
