Post by Jobing - Phoenix–based SRP, the nation's third–largest public power and water utility, is recruiting for a senior analyst to develop long–term forecasts of customers and energy usage for residential and commercial customers using advanced statistical forecasting methods. This requires a strong background in multiple regression and time–series analysis and a thorough understanding of economics, especially economic factors affecting the electric utility industry. The successful candidate will be required to track local and national economic conditions/trends and relate them to the electric utility industry and their specific impacts on SRP. A four–year college degree in business, economics, statistics or related field is required.
An M.S. or Ph.D. in economics is preferred. Some knowledge of the electric utility industry, the history of the Salt River Valley, and public power is a plus.
Five years experience in planning, economic analysis, financial analysis, forecasting or statistical analysis is also preferred. Candidate should have knowledge of advanced statistical methods and the local Phoenix economy. 3–5 years experience in SAS statistical software programming (SAS Base and Macro) and 2–4 years recent experience programming in SQL is strongly preferred. Candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Candidate must have the ability to effectively make group presentations and explain technical details to non–technical audiences, as well as the ability to organize and coordinate work projects with minimal supervision under tight deadlines.
