This is a full time, variable shift position.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The RN provides the best clinical practice in an environment of caring and healing. The RN has the opportunity to care for a broad spectrum of diagnoses which enables them to sharpen their assessment skills, gain a vast knowledge base, and improve critical thinking skills while caring for patients. Utilizing the nursing process, care is delivered in compliance with hospital policies and procedures, legal and regulatory standards. The RN impacts patients’ lives every day and truly makes a difference to those they care for.

The Respiratory ICU is a 12 bed ICU that specializes in providing critical care for patients who suffer from Respiratory Failure as either a primary or secondary process. This unit has a nice mixture of medical and surgical patients who have diagnosis that range from trauma to transplant. The nurses provide all levels of critical care nursing and develop significant expertise in managing patients on ventilators and other forms of respiratory /ventilatory assistance. This is an innovative ICU unit with a unique care team consisting of RNs, Physical Therapists and Respiratory Therapists. The early activity protocol which was initiated on this unit and is now receiving national recognition encourages early mobilization of patients on ventilators - and has resulted in significant patient improvement by time of discharge.

Minimum Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in Utah, or license eligible
  • This position requires verifiable current Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR certification. An original card must be verified prior to start date or the job offer will be withdrawn. For additional information regarding CPR requirements please visit our Job Requirements Page .
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Patient care work experience and/or capstone experience on a critical care unit
