The Westin Seattle is looking for a Laundry Manager who will supervisor, train, coach, and counsel associates, schedule staff in accordance to occupancy demands, manage administrative functions of the laundry department, process paperwork in an accurate and timely manner, conduct and oversee inventory of linen, comply production information for reporting purposes, perform forecasting and department budget, oversee the quality of product produced, ensuring that all equipment is in good, working order and the department is operating according to OSHA and state safety standards.

Requirements

An exceptional candidate will have an energizing yet relaxing personality and:
  • Must speak, read, write and understand the primary languages in the workplace.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Be able to stand and exert well-paced ability for up to four hours in length.
  • Be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to push carts up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of managing a housekeeping/laundry team.
  • Must have experience in a union environment.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance per Starwood standards.
  • Be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
