The Associate Security Specialist will provide for the safety and security of a large manufacturing and engineering site. In this role you will work as part of a team, meet weekly short-term objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

Essential Responsibilities
In addition, you will:

  • Demonstrate teamwork in the protection of people, property, proprietary information and government classified information
  • Conduct initial investigations, training and coordination with GE customers and ensure compliance with internal and external operating procedures and policies
  • Coordinate and conduct contractor guard force training
  • Develop and maintain liaison with GE and customer operations
  • Implement security education and awareness programs
  • Conduct random audits to review internal compliance, make recommendations for corrections and assist in security self-assessments
  • Assist with key and lock control program and monitoring of perimeter security
  • Implement access control procedures for the site including personnel identification, entry and deliveries of goods and other areas of special concern
  • Administer badging process ensuring compliance with background check procedures and export control requirements
  • Identify potential security concerns and elevate them to management
  • Enforce parking regulations including access to fire lanes and restricted parking spaces
  • Use security equipment and assist with building crisis management operations

    Qualifications/Requirements
  • High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a professional security environment
    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT:
  • Applicants for this position must have or be able to obtain a US Government security clearance. GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.     Desired Characteristics
  • Associate’s Degree or security program certification
  • Additional experience in a compliance oriented environment, including proprietary information or government regulation
  • Ability to interface with all levels of business, customer, and government contacts
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure, deadline oriented atmosphere
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and investigative ability
  • Proficiency with security related technology including CCTV, access control systems and computers
