This position is accountable for the provision of safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective care to the patients of the Endoscopy Unit. Utilizing the nursing process, care is delivered in compliance with hospital policies and procedures, legal, and regulatory standards. Coordinates continuous assessment utilizing all available data. Evaluates effectiveness of interventions and redirects plan of care as condition indicates. Assures that patient care interventions and activities are directed at the resolution of identified patient problems/needs. With appropriate input from all team members, including patient, family, or significant other; initiates, implements, and documents a patient care plan based on standards of nursing practice, policies, and procedures, established protocols, and professional judgment. Assists with conscious sedation and circulating duties and supervises other Endoscopy personnel. Preoperatively alleviates the patient’s apprehension and anxiety using verbal and non-verbal techniques. Demonstrates appropriate infection control measures, including use of protective measures. Creates and maintains a safe environment through implementation of principles of asepsis.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Idaho. Previous Endoscopy, Operating Room, or conscious sedation experience preferred. Current BLS and ACLS required.
