Basic Accountability Statement
The Customer Service Representative in Recording is responsible for preparing the necessary documentation for the recording of security instruments. This individual is assigned a small amount of counties to work with in order to acclimate to the formal recording policies and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
Review security instruments for completeness and accuracy according to recording jurisdiction fees guidelines.
Performs data entry to create document addendums to ensure recording (such as cover pages, legal descriptions, etc.)
Responds to customer service inquires regarding product status and exception status within established operational standards.
Determines actions to be taken within established operational business unit standards and procedures, and provides production data daily to department manager.
Corrects basic changes to rejected documents returned from a recording location.
Logs recorded documents, prepares shipping labels, and packages for delivery back to the loan service center.
Allocates recording funds appropriately when more then one security instrument is included in the transaction.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent is required. 0-1 years previous internal experience working in a recording area or comparable external experience is required. Candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, work well with others, possess good communication skills and be able to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities without sacrificing quality and timeliness. A high emphasis should be placed on both productivity and quality enhancements.
Candidate should demonstrate leadership abilities, as is the ability to direct and work with others. Previous experience working in a mortgage or production environment is highly desired. Candidate must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word applications. Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in both oral and written form.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
The incumbent must have the ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules.
